"Momentum" VFX Short
"Momentum" is a short VFX piece, produced as part of the VFX Storytelling Module at Napier University. The piece was produced individually, with pre-production involving storyboards, completed using the EPIC GAMES "Unreal Engine".
Followed by this, filming and editing for the completed VFX short.
"Unreal Engine" was a programme I was aware of, having played a few popular games that had been crafted using Unreal; but it wasn't one I had any experience with.
Up to that point, I had heavily avoided 3D modelling as it was not a module I had heavily enjoyed.
Some of what is shown in the Pre-Vis sequence would eventually be cut (specifically the end sequence) due to issues surrounding filming schedule conflicts.
Once that was done, it was time to actually film it. Further issues arose when many of the originally planned locations were either not suitable due to varying factors: 
- The opening shot was intended to be on Arthurs Seat, to view over the entire city
- Large enclosed area had recently been 'tarmacked' for planned housing
A rough cut of the final piece had been created to show a general idea of how the final piece could eventually look.
2 weeks were then given to edit the final piece with all VFX post-production completed.
A 2nd version was made, with different colour choice for the lightning and small tweaks to other effects to make them looks a bit better.
